Learning objectives

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the existing classification and labeling systems for substances and mixtures found in the general environment and workplaces in order to identify sources of risk and inform users.

Course content

Presentation, analysis and practice of European regulations and systems for classification, labeling and packaging of hazardous substances used in the workplace, risks to the health and safety of workers and consumers, marking, pictograms, standard declarations on labels and leaflets. The REACH CLP, PIC regulations are presented as examples.
