Learning objectives
In this course, students recognize the health problems arising from smoking as well as the general effects on the degradation of the environment with an emphasis on the alteration of the quality of inhaled air both at the workplace and home environment.
Course content
- Environmental causes of diseases as well as exogenous harmful factors that cause health problems
- Smoking (health problems caused by smoking)
- Passive smoking (environmental exposure to cigarette smoke)
- Smoking cessation – the role of the cessation clinic
- History of occupational diseases. Problems caused by dust inhalation. Problems caused by occupational or environmental exposure to asbestos – Pneumonia (silicosis-virillosis) – Occupational asthma – Occupational cancer
