ELENI STAMOULA

Biologist/Pharmacist, MSc, PhD.
Reader in Pharmacology at the English language undergraduate program of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Dr. Stamoula Eleni is a graduate of the American College of Thessaloniki "Anatolia". In 1999 she entered the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with national examinations and received her degree in 2005 with a grade of "7,61" (Very Good). In 2005 she attained her Bachelor Degree in Biology (Department of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) with grade of “7,61” (Very Good). She continued her studies with the admission by examination to the postgraduate course of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki "Medical Research Methodology" where she received the postgraduate degree in 2010 with a grade of "8,4" (Very Good) She subsequently undertook a postgraduate course entitled “Medical Research Methodology” held by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received her diploma in 2010 with a grade of “8,4” (Very Good). Subsequently, following this, she started working on her PhD thesis at the Laboratory of Physiology, Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki entitled "Analysis of the molecular response of neuronal cells in excitotoxicity”, which she completed in 2016 with grade "Excellent with Distinction”. In 2012, while working on her doctoral thesis, she successfully passed the exams and was admitted to the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She received her degree in 2018 with a grade of "8.12" (Very Good).

She holds three postgraduate degrees in A) Medical Research Methodology with specialization in Basic Research (years 2006-2010), B) Clinical and Industrial Pharmacology with specialization in Industrial Pharmacology (years 2017-2020) and MBA-Master in Business Administration, Business Administration (years 2020-2022). She is currently completing her fourth Master's degree entitled: Clinical Studies: Design and Implementation at the (2022-present). She is also a scientific associate of the Institute of Medical and Biological Research of the Academy of Athens (IIBEAA). Upon completion of her doctoral thesis, she undertook postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on the following topics "Gender differences in adverse effects of psychotropic medications: a systematic review of the literature and analysis in the FDA Adverse Event Reporting system (FAERS) and in 2023 she received her postdoctoral degree. She is a Reader in Pharmacology in the Aristotle University School of Medicine In 2019-2021 she served as Scientific Director in a research project entitled "Protein Analysis" in collaboration with the Greek pharmaceutical company DEMOS S.A. From 2019 to date she is Deputy Scientific Director of two projects. The first project is entitled "Pharmacology-Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacology Consultancy and Technical Services" and the second "Support of educational and research activities of the Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory".

In 2020-2021 she served as the Scientific Director of the course "Molecular Pharmacology" at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki within the framework of the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning" entitled "Acquisition of Academic Teaching Experience for Young Scientists with a PhD at AUTh”. From 2017 to 2021 she served as an Academic Fellow of the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology of the Department of Medicine of AUTh. As an Academic Fellow she actively participated in the teaching of undergraduate courses entitled "Pharmacology I", "Pharmacology II", in Erasmus Pharmacology courses and in research projects of the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology. She is a Reader in Pharmacology in Aristotle University School of Medicine since September 2023.

Dr Stamoula has extensive educational experience, as her teaching experience is not only limited to undergraduate level but also to postgraduate leve, both in Greek and in English language. Dr. Stamoula teaches in postgraduate programs at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Medical School of the National Academy of Sciences and has teaching experience in an English-language college in Greece. More specifically, she teaches Pharmacology in the Master's degree program "Advanced Cardiopulmonary Applications-Extracorporeal Circulation Techniques" since 2019, Physiology and Pharmacology courses in the Pathology and Surgery Specialty Program within the Nursing Specialization (Nursing Specialties) at AHEPA Hospital, courses entitled "Cell Therapies", "mRNA vaccines, their development and safety". "Pharmacogenetics-Pharmacogenomics" of the postgraduate program "Clinical and Industrial Pharmacology-Clinical Toxicology", course on "Drug dependence in the nervous system: Neurobiology, Risks and Extensions" of the postgraduate program "Neurosciences, Linking basic research with clinical application" .Additionally, the course "Principles of Drug and Health Technology Assessment (Health Technology Assessment-HTA)" within the inter-institutional postgraduate program "Management and organization of health and social care services”.

She is the author/co-author of 21 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, with 470 citations, h-index: 9 (Scopus), three (3) chapters in foreign language books, 15 conference presentations, 1 PhD and 3 MAs.
